What is the NET exam?

This examination is conducted by the UGC or University Grants Commission to determine eligibility to take up the position of an assistant professor or a Junior Research Fellowship. The examination happens twice a year during June and December. Although this examination is considered one of the toughest in India with a mere 6% passing ratio, people sit for this exam in huge numbers. The exam allows candidates to obtain positions in government universities and colleges with a fantastic entry pay and the benefit of a stable job.

Eligibility criteria

The NET exam requires three main parameters to qualify for the test. The first one is a degree from a reputed college in India that is recognized by the UGC. The second is having at least 55% aggregate in an MBA program. Thirdly, an individual must be at least 19 years old.

Is Distance MBA valid for NET?

Yes, a distance MBA is perfectly suitable for undertaking the NET exam. With that being said, the course must be done from a recognized college which is supported by certification and accreditations from reputed organizations.
