About Program
The Insurance and Risk Management Program provides students with the knowledge and skills to become effective insurance and risk management professionals. It covers topics such as risk management principles, insurance fundamentals, claims management, and legal principles. Students learn to analyze, assess, and manage risk exposures utilizing various insurance products, and develop an understanding of the regulatory and legal framework of the insurance industry. Coursework also covers aspects of financial management, accounting, and economics, and how they relate to the insurance industry. Students are provided with the opportunity to gain practical experience through internships and co-ops with insurance companies and risk management firms. Upon completion of the program, students are well-prepared to pursue positions as risk managers, insurance brokers, and underwriters in the insurance industry.
